Testing the Journey
2min
In this exercise we'll test the journey we've build.
In Adobe Journey Optimizer you can run journeys in test mode to test if the outcome of your journeys aligns with your requirements.
To enable test mode, toggle Test on the top right of your journey.
While in test mode, you can not make changes to the journey. You'll also notice that the left menu is replaced with the Test mode panel.
- This is a batch journey, you will first have to choose whether you want to test with a small batch or a single profile. Choose Single profile at a time.
- As this journey is using timeouts, we'll need to set a value for the Wait time. The value set here overwrites all wait activities and event timeouts. This allows you to control the taken path during your test. Let's set the value of Wait time to 120 seconds .
- Click on Trigger profile entrance. This will open a window. In this window you can choose a profile to be in the Read audience activity.
- When we set up the Read audience, we chose e-mail as the main identifier. Enter your email address as the profile identifier and click Send to start the test.
- The window will close and the test will now start. In a few moments you'll see more arrows turn green. This is your test profile moving through the journey. You will receive the email in your inbox within the next minute. Your screen should look like this:
For the scope of the exercise, this test is enough to show how test mode works. You don't need to trigger the Email Clicked event.
You've now tested your journey.
- Turn off test mode by toggling Test.
- Click the < in the top left to navigate back to the Journeys overview.
