Creating an Audience
4min
In this exercise we'll be creating an audience that we can use in our journey.
Log into Adobe Journey Optimizer
To get an overview of all audiences in Adobe Journey Optimizer:
- In the menu on the left side, click on Audiences. You will see a overview with all existing audiences.
We'll be creating a audience that contains all customers that used to make frequent purchases in the last 3 months, but haven't made a purchase for a month.
Click on Create audience, then choose Build rule and click on Create. You'll be taken to the Audience builder.
- Set the name to [your name] - Customers at risk of disengaging.
- Set the evaluation method to Batch.
- In the Fields menu, click on the cogwheel icon to open settings and select Show full XDM schema.
- In the Events tab, search for purchase. In the bottom a predefined event type will appear. Drag the Purchases event to the middle of the screen.
- Click on the Purchases-event in the middle section to open the Event Rules.
- Change the Event Rules to Include at least 3. This makes it so we're looking for the event happening 3 times.
- In the left menu, now search for timestamp. Drag the field Timestamp to the Event Rules section where it says Add event field.
- Set the expression for Timestamp to Rolling range 1 to 3 months ago.
- In the Events tab, search for purchase. In the bottom a predefined event type will appear. Drag the Purchases event to the middle of the screen so it's to the right of your previously added Purchases-event.
- Click on the new Purchases-event in the middle section to open the Event Rules.
- Change the Event Rules to Exclude. This makes it so we're looking for the event not happening.
- In the middle section change Any time to In last 3 Month(s).
- Click on the clock icon between the two events and set it to Within 1 Month(s). This makes it so that the second event check needs to happen within 1 month of the first event.
- Your screen should look like the image below. Click Save and Close to finish your audience.
