Testing the Journey
In this exercise we'll test the journey we've build.
If you want to fully experience this journey, make sure to have the Luma Retail demo app installed on your phone and linked to your test profile.
A guide on how to do this can be found under Introduction > Mobile App.
In Adobe Journey Optimizer you can run journeys in test mode to test if the outcome of your journeys aligns with your requirements.
To enable test mode, toggle Test on the top right of your journey.
While in test mode, you can not make changes to the journey. You'll also notice that the left menu is replaced with the Test mode panel.
- As we'll want to trigger a purchase, we'll need to set the Wait Time to 120 seconds. This will give us 2 minutes before the event times out.
- Click on Trigger an event. This will open a window. In this window you can choose a profile to be in the initialsGeoNearStore activity.
- Fill out all the values for the event.
- Set Event Type to location.entry
- Set Core to your ECID
- Set POI Category to Store
- Set POI Name to your store name
- Click Send to start the test.
If you don't have your test profile's ECID at hand, you can find your test profile in AEP using your email address. A guide to do this can be found under Prerequisites > Test profile.
The window will close and the test will now start. In a few moments you'll see more arrows turn green. This is your test profile moving through the journey. You will receive the push notification within the next minute. Your screen should look like this:
The journey will wait after the first push. You now have 120 seconds to trigger the next event.
- Click on Trigger an event. This will open a window. In this window you can choose a profile to be in the lumaPurchase activity.
- Fill out all the values for the event.
- Set Event Type to commerce.purchases
- Set Discount Amount to 35
- Set Name to Shirt
- Set Price Total to 75
- Set SKU to 1234
- Set Core to your ECID
- Click Send to continue the test.
You've now tested your journey.
- Turn off test mode by toggling Test.
- Click the < in the top left to navigate back to the Journeys overview.
